Laine
Percussionist/Singer/Songwriter Laine toured nationally for 4 years with World Music Band, The Presidents, honing her musical skills with great jazz players and studying ethnomusicology. Her solo project is more trance pop with a jazz flavor. Her lyrics have been described as "poetic" adding "serious substance" to her songs. Laine has performed for 12 years, playing literally thousands of gigs and guesting on several albums. Her songs were at the #1 position on Mp3's pop/rock chart for several weeks, and she won a prize in the 2001 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Laine just recently moved from Austin to Los Angeles and is in search of representation. Laine is also a featured artist on Mperia.com
